Program Overview

The LINC program serves recent immigrants to Alberta. We offer many classes at each Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) level. Students from all English proficiency levels can progress at their own rate. The program concentrates on the language skills you need for integration into community life and work in Canada.

We offer these services and facilities at the Westmount campus:

• Application and testing in one visit
• Regular access to new computer and language labs with ESL programs
• Access to student advisors, career and work experience consultants, and personal counsellors
• Lunch room and student centre
• Free textbook loans
• Library and Information Services with ESL books and tapes, and computers
• Easy access to public transportation
• Qualified and experienced instructors
• Free placement testing

Admission Requirements

• Minimum 17 years of age
• LINC card
• LINC 1, LINC 2, LINC 3, LINC 4, or LINC 5
• LARCC approval*

Progression

Students must show progress in the Canadian Language Benchmarks in each course to advance through the program. To qualify for graduation, students must complete the highest LINC level.

Credential

After successfully completing either Intermediate Level 3, or 1250 hours of instruction, graduates will be awarded a NorQuest LINC certificate.
