Program Overview
Transitions to Technical and Engineering Careers (TTEC)
is a high impact program for unemployed internationally educated
technical and engineering professionals. The program helps
students develop their skills, find and retain employment,
manage their careers, and adapt to the changing labour market.
It consists of seven core courses designed to accelerate the
language, cultural, and professional skills needed for the
Canadian workplace.
Semester one consists of classroom instruction. Semester two
is a work experience term designed to apply study materials
to a technical work environment. Students who successfully
complete the program will possess strong employability skills,
strengthened communications skills, and AutoCAD skills that
will help them secure employment in their respective technical
fields.
Career Potential
Graduates from this program have been successful in finding
employment in technical and engineering fields.
Admission Requirements
- Interview with program coordinator
- CLB assessment required (minimum CLB 5+)
- Evidence of experience in a trade or technical field (The program coordinator will evaluate your credentials before you are accepted into the program.)
Progression
Students must attain a pass grade in each course to progress
through the program. To qualify for graduation, students must
pass all courses.
Credential
After successfully completing this program, graduates will
be awarded a NorQuest Transitions to Technical and Engineering
Careers certificate

Funding Your Education
Students in this program may be eligible for Alberta government
funding including costs for tuition, books, and living expenses.
