"I arrive in the mornings proud to be at a school where I know I can succeed and I leave feeling like anything is possible."

I suffer from inflammation of the optic nerve, a condition called neurosarcoidosis. Prior to losing most of my vision, I had been very successful working on drilling rigs. I was devastated when I realized that this type of work was no longer an option. I developed many health problems and hit rock bottom.

Fortunately, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind intervened in my life and showed me all the assistive technology that is available for people with vision loss. School and a career were possible for me after all. I moved to Edmonton and enrolled at NorQuest College.

NorQuest helps people with disabilities achieve their academic goals. I started academic upgrading in February 2008 and I will soon be starting the Social Work program. My experience at NorQuest has been total bliss. I have received everything I need to succeed in my quest to reach my goal. I arrive in the mornings proud to be at a school where I know I can succeed and I leave feeling like anything is possible. This is how much NorQuest has improved my life.
