NorQuest’s Annual Fundraising Breakfast

Albertans wake up to the possibilities
Breakfast raises more than $1.8 million for NorQuest students

Tears, cheers and smiles filled the main ballroom at the Westin Hotel on November 19 at the 7th annual NorQuest College Foundation Fundraising Breakfast.

NorQuest’s largest community fundraising event attracted more than 500 community, business and government leaders as guests donated more than a million dollars to the College. When combined with provincial government matching grants, the event raised just over $1.8 million for students. The funds will be used for awards, bursaries, scholarships, new equipment and learner supports. There was even a $500,000 donation from an Edmonton couple who wish to remain anonymous.

"A big thank you goes to all of the table captains and their guests as well our sponsors including our presenting sponsor, RBC and their employees who volunteered at the event," said NorQuest Foundation Executive Director Karen Faulkner. “Without all of them, we would not be halfway to our goal of raising $3.2 Million by June 30th of this year”.

Two students stole the show as they spoke about their ability to succeed in post-secondary education thanks to the unique learning supports NorQuest provides and because of the generosity of our community supporters. Since it started in 2003, the breakfast has brought in more than $4.5 million, not including government matching, for NorQuest students.
